Exploring
interactions of evolutionary theory and human nature

Accidents of history have tied the self-concept of the English-speaking world to a science that denies the self. The huge authority of that science threatens to inject a similar denial into the self-concepts of cultures worldwide.

The books in this imprint stand that science on its head. They portray the human self as a product of evolution. The first benefit of this approach is, we know the self inside out. Already we know a great deal about what evolution is capable of.

Such an approach might well lead to revolutionary advances in our understanding of evolution that we could then apply to the refining of our own evolved selves.

Author Shaun Johnston studied biochemistry at University College London before becoming first a graphic designer then a science and medical writer in London and NYC. He now lives in the Hudson Valley.
